We believe that interior design is all about telling a story within your home. When someone walks into your home, they should be a little bit closer to understanding who you are. Each corner, vignette, and piece of furniture in a space speaks to the narrative of who inhabits the home, creating an interesting, juxtaposed conversation that echoes throughout the walls to make a house a home.
Vintage pieces have a way of saying “come on in, pull up a chair, take a seat,” creating layered, lived-in spaces wherever they are placed.
Vintage shopping can be an overwhelming and intimidating endeavor. We love the hunt for the perfect pieces that add soul to a vintage home. With travelling to Europe often, we've fallen in love with vintage shopping and love bringing pieces home for our projects and even our own homes. Let us share some insights for those who love old as much as we do.
I love a little bit of chipping paint and the look of a timeworn piece, it adds character and a story to the piece and space it is in.
Bones are everything when vintage shopping. Furniture pieces can always be refinished and brought back to life, but you can't change the shape.
Vintage shopping is like hunting. It takes time and patience. Don't be discouraged if you don't find “the piece” or anything that catches your eye. Incorporate vintage shopping into your weekends and travel plans and you’ll surely find pieces that you will fall in love with and that you will make space for in your home.
